First Mental Arithmetic 5 is aimed at pupils in Year 2 and includes 30 single-page sessions covering the key subject areas of number, measurement, geometry and statistics, including multiplication, division, partitioning, fractions, block graphs, missing number sequences and telling the time to five minutes. Regular Check-up Tests and Just Facts questions identify gaps in understanding, while a Language of Maths glossary at the start of each book helps develop children?s number vocabulary. Each book also contains three Achievement Charts to enable children to monitor their own progress. A separate accompanying answer book, First Mental Arithmetic 5 Answers contains answers to all the questions, making marking simple.
